April 4, 1961 - Lodge floor was completed, three new camper dorms to be started. June 6, 1961 - 225 Camper reservations reported. February 4, 1964 - The design for a new camp entranceway was approved. June 1, 1964 - A picnic shelter/bath house under construction. October 4, 1966 - Investigating the purchase of property south of camp. January 3, 1967 - $15,000 offer for property not accepted. July 5, 1967 - Dock installed by Holland group. August 1, 1967 - New Camp Manager's house planned for Humphrey DeVries and family. August 26, 1967 - David William Pumplin & Susan Ruth Wesemeyer married at camp by Rev. Paul G. Bretscher. October 21, 1967 - 10th Anniversary Music Festival. April 7, 1968 - Area dug for basement of Camp Manager’s house. October 1, 1968 - Foundation work on the Camp Manager’s house almost completed. November 11, 1969 - Work on the Camp Manager’s house was delayed throughout 1969 for a lack of funds. The foundation was covered and protected and loans sought to proceed with the building. |
