Leaders-in-Traiing / HS
(entering grades 9-12 in 2017 - takes the place of the Junior Counselor program)

Experience 6 days of amazing training, service, community and activities - including Team Initiative Program (TIP) and Zip Line; all geared toward high school age youth and learning how to assist and lead in the camp setting (two references requested in registration process). After successfully completing this training week, students will have had an intense and incredible experience, making them eligible to return as an LIT for as many LIT Serve Weeks as their summer will allow (See LIT Serve Week details below)...and will receive ONE of those LIT Serve Weeks at no additional charge (the Camp office will manually deduct the $50 LIT Serve Week cost from your total costs). During these weeks, LITs serve behind the scenes to improve camp and support summer ministry staff with campers.

Leaders-in-Training (LIT) is a reformatting of the Junior Counselor program and High School program - combining them into one.

LIT Serve Weeks

In order to apply to serve as an LIT during a Serve Week, you must have completed JC Training in 2015 or 2016, or attended the LIT Training Camp, June 18-23. When applying, please indicate which weeks you are available. Camp Concordia will determine the exact needs of each week and inform you which week(s) you may return to serve. You will choose your LIT Serve Weeks during the LIT Training registration process. We ask a nominal fee to assist with expenses during each Serve Week.

Prerequisite: LIT Training Week or successful prior JCs training in 2015 or 2016.

LIT 1 June 25-30
LIT 2 July 5-8 (4-day)
LIT 3 July 9-14
LIT 4 July 16-21
LIT 5 July 23-28
LIT 6 July 30-August 4

RETURNING Leader-In Training (LIT) Option

Students who have successfully completed the prior Junior Counselor servant (JCs) program have the option to sign up for LIT Serve Weeks WITHOUT the LIT Training Camp (two references requested in registration process). This means you HAVE been a JCs at Camp Concordia during the summers of 2015 or 2016 and would like to simply come back and serve with minimal training.

Like Junior Counselors, LITs serve behind the scenes to improve camp and support summer ministry staff with campers.
