Camp & COVID-19 Information
Updated: June 1, 2022
Q: Does Camp Concordia have a plan for summer 2022?

A: Camp Concordia safely ran a full summer of children's week-long residential camps in 2021, and once permitted to open, ran 4 weeks in 2020. Staff will continue to follow the guidance of the State Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Campers get to experience God's love outdoors!

Q: How might things be different at camp in 2022?
A: We will stay current with the guidelines of the State Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. At the same time, it is imperative that parents/guardians understand that Camp Concordia cannot guarantee bacteria and viruses are not spread. Parents of registered campers will receive a 2022 Full Disclosure statement as well as additional information letting them know what we are doing. But the message - it will remain the same. Jesus will be our focus.

Q: Should I still register my child for camp?
A: REGISTER FOR SUMMER CAMP - Register your child for SUMMER CAMP now! Call the office if you have any questions.

Cost Information 2023
*Please note: With the rapid changes in our economy, cost of supplies, etc., all listed costs are subject to change. Changes for 2023 reflect increased food supply costs and competitive summer ministry staff wages.

Deposit

When registering, include $100 non-refundable deposit for each week and weekend camp session (i.e., 2 sessions = $200 deposit). The balance will be due 2 weeks before your camper's arrival date. Full camp session fees are non-refundable at this time. You may choose to pay your balance anytime online by logging in.

Financial Assistance & Discounts
Camp Concordia is committed to working at getting every child that desires a camp experience at a Christian camp to be able to have that experience. Use the following means of reducing your rates and helping more kids get to camp at Camp Concordia. Installment plan is available during registration.

Returning & Early Registration Discounts

Returning campers registered online (for a regularly priced 6-day youth camp) before February 1, are eligible for an early registration discount of $40 off the total fees. After February 1, and before April 1, all campers registered online (for a regularly priced 6-day youth camp) are eligible for an early registration discount of $20 off the total fees. This is automatic during your registration process. (This discount does not apply to the already discounted first week of camp.)
Bring a Friend Discount
If you are a "past camper" and you are coming to a week-long (Sunday-Friday) camp session this summer; we will reduce your final payment by $30 for every "new camper" you bring to the same week-long summer residential camp program you are registered for (i.e., Trails Camp Session, Quest Camp Session).
  • Past Camper = (you came to a Camp Concordia summer residential camp program in the last couple of years, this name is in our database).
  • New Camper = (never been to a Camp Concordia summer residential camp before, this name is not in our database).
How do you get it? ASK for this discount during online registration

Note: If you have NOT been to a Camp Concordia summer residential camp program, you may not take advantage of this discount (you may, however, request a camper scholarship form). Only past campers whose names are in the Camp Concordia master database can take advantage of this discount. This also does not apply to Family Camp nor if you were a camper decades ago (nice idea). Thanks for understanding.

Sibling Discount

If you have multiple children attending camp from the immediate family, and need financial assistance so they can all attend camp, you may request a $25 discount for the second child registered, an $50 discount for the third child registered and a $75 discount for the fourth+ when they are registering for a week-long (Sunday-Friday) summer overnight camp the same year. Watch for this in the online registration process.

Camper Scholarship Fund
CC is committed to providing every child with a quality Christian camping experience. All money in this fund is contributed by individuals, families and congregations. Your personal contribution is tax deductible.

If finances are a problem, send your request for a scholarship to CC. Each request is considered according to need, status of scholarship fund and date of request. Request an application (include amount needed up to 50% of base rate and a letter of reference from your Pastor). Application needs to be sent in or connected online with your registration and deposit.

Questions? Contact us at 616-754-3785 or at Office@CampConcordia.org. Scholarships are not available for family camps or already discounted programs, such as: Week-long camps June 11-16, 2023, etc.

2023 Packing, Check-in, Check-out Information
This was our first year sending our son to overnight camp so we had a number of questions regarding how to prepare him. The staff/Mary was always so responsive and helpful in answering our questions and putting our minds at ease both before camp started and also during his week at camp. Sam had a fantastic week--so much so that he wanted to stay longer! Thanks for all you did for all the kids this summer and for being there to support us first-timer parents in preparing to send our boy to camp. He is already talking about going again next summer!" (Colleen B. - Mom of 9 year old Camper)

The rewards of camp far outweigh the price tag! Gideon loved his first overnight experience last summer, his counselor was fantastic, and I loved coming back to see all the improvements (Staff '73 & '74).
Registration Information 2023
Cabin Mate Request
Campers may request UP TO two (2) people to be in the same cabin during the registration process. The requests MUST BE mutual in order to be honored. You may update request online under "additional information" tab.

Health Forms
Camper Health Forms are completed during the online registration process and MUST be completed in FULL. By registering online, your child's health information will only need to be updated each year. All participants MUST have a completed and signed HEALTH FORM at check-in. Campers signed up for Trails: Horses will have an additional release form to complete.

Food Allergies
Camp Concordia provides quality meals. Parents may request a copy of the menu 2 weeks prior to arrival and send along food to supplement campers with special diets, i.e. gluten free, vegan, etc. In this case, campers need to manage any substitutions on their own, so make sure your food is clearly labeled. Please contact the office before registering online.

Medications & Immunizations
All summer we have a trained Health Officer, certified as required by the State of Michigan, who is in charge of managing and dispensing medications to campers as well as attending to any cuts and scrapes. If your child requires daily medication for more than allergies, please contact the office before registering online. While we recommend you follow health guidelines, your child does not need to have the immunizations to attend camp.

Other Special Needs
Camp Concordia has a Christ-centered and dynamic college aged staff; ideal for children and youth capable of participating in songs and activities within a small group of 10-12 people and a large group of 60-70 people. Camp Concordia is not positioned to provide specialized staff for children and youth who require one-on-one care. Please contact the office with any questions.

Camper Mail
There are three ways to communicate with your camper while they are here at Camp Concordia.
  1. Drop Off Mail: Prepare letters and packages (Please limit to a 1 gallon labeled ziplock bag) prior to arriving at camp, and leave it up to us to deliver them to your camper. You can label the letter or package with the day you would like it to be given, and we will pass it out during canteen time on the designated day.
  2. Email a Camper Tool: Use the "Email a Camper" tool in your UltraCamp Account (the online registration system). Click "Additional Options" and then Email a Camper. You will be invited to purchase "blocks of emails. Five emails are $5. This covers paper, ink and time. The office will be alerted to these emails daily and distribute them with the other camper mail. Thanks so much. No e-mails to office please.
  3. USPS (or other carrier): To send mail via the post office, please send to: Camp Concordia 13400 Pinewood St., Gowen, MI 49326

Camp Store (Canteen Money)
Deposit your camper's funds into their Camp Store Account for safe keeping and convenience during their camp week. Money may be added:
  1. During online registration (by credit card)
  2. Mailed to the office before camp begins (by check)
  3. Turned in at check-in (as cash or check)
Recommended amount is $30 for snacks; $47-$65 if desiring a camp shirt, water bottle, etc. $70 maximum. The Camp Store may be open again to parents on camper pick-up day; a great time to purchase t-shirts, sweatshirts, or camp water bottles!
