Our HistoryThe idea of establishing a Lutheran camp began in the minds of a few members of the Lutheran Laymen's League in 1955. They saw the need to create a space where children, youth, and families could grow deeper in their faith while being immersed in God's creation. From there Camp Concordia was born in 1957. Today, camp's mission is to provide opportunities to Encounter Christ in Creation—Be Transformed by Grace—Go Light the World. In Camp Concordia's 70 years of ministry thousands of campers, families, and staff have built relationships that they treasure for the rest of their lives.

Who We ServeROOTED IN FAITH -- In response to God's love and grace, Camp Concordia welcomes approximately 600 people each year through various programs. From summer camp to outdoor education to retreats, the love of Jesus is shared with all who enter Camp Concordia's gates.

Each person who comes to camp is encouraged to serve the Lord throughout their life; some as lay leaders in their local congregation, and others as professional church workers. Camp Concordia aims to inspire Christian Leaders for generations to come.

Why Now?Thousands of campers have
called Camp Concordia their summer home. Additions and small improvements have been made over the years, but much of the camp’s facilities are close to their original form and do not meet the expectations of some guests today. After years of discussions and planning, the time has come to remove this obstacle and improve camp's facilities to meet the expectations of campers today and in the future -- BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE.

Our Campaign Goal

$750,000 - GROUNDBREAKING GOAL
Build a year-round double-cabin that will provide 24 occupants
with new bunkhouses and restrooms and a common meeting area. This new cabin design will be the first of its kind for our summer campers and replace the need for two existing cabins. It will also provide an opportunity for churches and schools to use this ministry space for retreats or events throughout the year. |
$1.5 MILLION - CELEBRATION GOAL
Double the Blessing - Add another similarly constructed cabin which will accommodate an additional 24 campers. These two new buildings would replace the cabins on the north side of the current cabin circle.

After God generously provides for these two goals to be met, Camp Concordia will pursue the construction of two more of these new double-cabins. This will complete the renovation of the cabin circle, providing housing for 96 campers along with new showers, sinks, and toilets in each building.
These four new cabins will replace eight of the current cabins, meeting the needs of today's campers and future year-round ministry guests. Beyond that, we will strive to serve our camp community in even more ways with updates to the Lodge, to enhance all of camp's ministry opportunities.
